Nothing (metal wise) that comes directly from Mexico is left untouched by the necrotic hand of death metal. And seeing as how long time thrash outfit TransMetal was formed back in 1987 when death metal and thrash were almost synonymous, nothing less than pure fucking Armageddon is expected from their newest album, “Odyssey Of The Flesh”. Thanks to the English translated lyrics, I was better able to see just were TransMetal was coming from/going for during the course of “Odyssey Of The Flesh”. Cannibalistic tribes, humanity’s disrespect for mother Gaia, the thirst to kill, etc... All lyrically standard death metal fare. The melodic riffs ( as hear in Hunger and Inhaling Misery And Destruction) on the other hand kin of threw me off, but were not unwelcome. Vocally, Alberto Pimentel pulls off the rage instilled growls perfectly akin to a bloodthirsty Aztec warrior that‘s about to play Operation with a slow moving conquistador, with a poorly crafted obsidian rock knife! To recap: “Odyssey Of The Flesh” is primitive, old school thrash from south of the boarder! If the young dudes in Exmortus were two decades old, they'd sound like this. - :)
